How does a student create an account?

Students can create accounts in Inq-ITS using one of three methods: username and password, Google, or Clever.

When a student clicks Sign Up on the inqits.com webpage, they will be asked whether they need a Student or Teacher account. Tell them to click on Student. If they clicked on an assignment link, this step is skipped.

Next, they will be asked for an assignment code from their teacher, if they did not get to this page from an assignment link. Have them enter the code provided by their teacher. If they reached this page from an assignment link, this page is auto-filled.

Upon entering the code or clicking an assignment link, the student is shown the class and assignment information to double-check. If the information is correct, have them click Yes Continue.

When the class and assignment information is confirmed, students are given three options to create their account: username and password, Google, or Clever. When making an assignment through Google or Clever, students will be redirected to those services to continue the account making process. If they choose Username, they will make an account directly through Inq-ITS.

If the student is making an account directly through Inq-ITS, they will be asked for a name and password. Their name is used to auto-generate an Inq-ITS username.

When a new Inq-ITS account is created using a username, students will be assigned a username in the following format: first two letters of their first name, their last name, and an animal. Have students write down this username so they don't forget. When they click OK on the pop-up, they will be able to use this username and their chosen password to log in.

When a student logs in using their chosen method, the assignment that they used the code or link for to create their account will be assigned automatically.
