Summary of Digital Lab: Predation: Advanced
Summary of Digital Lab: Predation: Advanced
Summary
In this virtual lab students explore a key component to the development of ecosystem understanding: the oscillating patterns that occur as a result of the predation cycle (the idea that these populations are in flux with one another, as the predator population is increasing the prey population is decreasing and vice versa).
Driving Questions
- Investigate how an initial seal population influences the duration of predation cycles.
- Investigate how shark birth rate influences the duration of predation cycles.
- Investigate how seal birth rate influences the final seal population.
