Summary of Digital Lab: Forces and Motion

Summary

The goal of the Forces and Motion virtual labs is to allow students to investigate how forces impact the motion of a wooden sled. Students conduct experiments to understand the relationship between height, mass, friction, and gravity.

Driving Questions

    Motion and Forces: Introduction
  • Determine how the height of the tower impacts the velocity of the sled.
  • Determine how the mass of the sled impacts the force of the sled.
  • Determine how the amount of friction on the ramp impacts the time.
  • Motion and Forces on Different Planetary Bodies
  • Determine how gravity impacts the velocity of the sled.
  • Determine how gravity impacts the force of the sled.
  • Determine how gravity of the planetary body impacts the time to the end of the ramp.
